Your Photographer
My name is Sarah Tan. I grew up in Southern California, attended college in France, England, and Tennessee, and have lived all over the world, but these days I find myself back in my hometown.
Photography is a means of storytelling for me—capturing the wisp of a memory, storing away the evocative moment. I have a deep passion for books and movies, especially the works of C.S. Lewis, Hayao Miyazaki, Jane Austen, and J.R.R. Tolkien. Growing up immersed in their stories has profoundly influenced my art and photography. Some of my favorite images are fantastical, melancholic, whimsical, and emotive.
In essence, my goal with my photography is to capture the innate life and movement around us.
